  • Four Ocean Alexander 70e Yachts Are Sold Before World-Debut at Yachts Miami Beach

    February 3, 2016

SEATTLE, WA, (February 2, 2016) – Alexander Marine International, the importer of Ocean Alexander yachts, is pleased to announce the sale of four Ocean Alexander 70e yachts prior to its world debut at the upcoming Yachts Miami Beach boat show.

The 70E is the first model of the new Evolution Series of yachts by Ocean Alexander and it’s the first production Ocean Alexander model to be built in the United States. Designed by Evan K. Marshall, world-renowned naval architect for megayachts, the 70E incorporates luxurious details and amenities in a size of yacht that is more appealing to owner-operator buyers.

All four yachts were sold by the Seattle dealership, Alexander Marine USA.  Ray Prokorym secured the first sale for the 70E.  The new owners of the first-ordered 70E are new to the Ocean Alexander brand.  Prokorym adds, “They are moving up from Prestige 550, and wanted something more heavily built, luxurious, high tech and well supported. They were looking at the typical euro bands such as Sunseeker and Ferretti.  The 70E checked every box for them and they valued the high-tech propulsion, the system integration, lots of social seating, and turn-key aspect of the yacht.”

Jerry Todd, secured the second order for clients that are also new to Ocean Alexander.  “The clients previously owned a Navigator and wanted to move into something slightly larger, but it had to meet a list of requirements.  The boat needs to be quiet and vibration-free, they wanted an open floor plan on the main deck and lots of windows,” explains Todd when asked about his clients. “These owners are serious boaters who put 250-300 hours on their boat annually.  They plan to take delivery at the factory in Merritt Island and cruise for a season exploring the East Coast, Bahamas, and have plans to make the Great Loop.  It’ll be brought back to Seattle as the home port.

The third and fourth orders were both secured by Niel Steenkamp.  One owner is moving up from a 62’ Ocean Alexander and the other is new to the brand, moving up from a Sea Ray 510.  Both families were looking to move up into larger yachts to better accommodate families and friends who travel with them while boating.  Steenkamp explained, “both clients were looking for an Ocean Alexander in that size range and the 4 staterooms sealed the deal. More features that impressed them after seeing the boat at the factory is the spacious interior, the foredeck seating and the overall quality of the build. Performance played a big role as well.”  He adds, “the boat has to be seen in real life to be really appreciated.  The renderings in the brochure and video can’t capture the true volume of the space.”

The 70E will debut at Yachts Miami Beach on Ramp 6, slip 1213.

Jerry Todd, from Alexander Marine USA’s Seattle location, completed the sale of a new inventory 72 Motoryacht to his long time clients. These new owners chose the new 72 for its classic Ocean Alexander features and modern styling. They will be cruising the waters of the Pacific Northwest.

The clients from Nevada are current owners of a smaller Ocean Alexander and are moving up within the OA line-up. Numerous vendors and technicians worked diligently to complete the yacht to the buyers’ requirements. We wish to express thanks to all involved who put the finishing touches on this extraordinary yacht.

  • Ocean Alexander Announces Debut of New 100’ Motoryacht

    July 17, 2014

KAOHSIUNG, TAIWAN – Ocean Alexander announced the planned debut for the new Ocean Alexander 100 Motoryacht at the 2014 Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show.

The new Ocean Alexander 100, designed by Evan K. Marshall, is a natural next step from Ocean Alexander’s highly successful 90 motoryacht. The new OA 100 has been designed with chartering as a high priority. It incorporates a galley that is a stand-out in the industry for this sized vessel and provides the space required for a chef to prepare true gourmet meals. Overall, the crew quarters has been greatly enlarged, as well as the addition of strategic storage space throughout the vessel. The OA 100 has formal dining for eight while maintaining an enormous salon seating space. There’s a wet-bar in the salon in addition to a day head on the main deck for ease and convenience. Forward of the galley is a very large settee area for relaxed seating and casual dining.

The OA 100 continues with OA’s highly successful full-beam master stateroom arrangement with his-and-her heads. The forward VIP includes an abundance of storage and hanging locker space. Between the VIP and Master, are two additional guest staterooms with twin berths that convert to a queen. All staterooms are en-suite, providing guests with privacy and convenience.

The vessel is available with an open bridge arrangement, which allows for the largest open deck area for entertaining and storage of watercrafts of any vessel in its class. The vessel is also available with an enclosed skylounge arrangement with a wonderful new layout by Evan Marshall that adds a true second salon area, complete with wet-bar and day head.

“With the recent successful sales of three new Ocean Alexander 90 yachts in the first quarter of 2014, we feel very confident that this new model will be very well received,” states Richard Allender, Director of US Operations. “Several clients have approached us for something new in this size due to limits in dock space, cruising needs, or a variety of other reasons. This new OA 100 will provide those customers with luxuries usually found on larger megayachts while allowing them to keep the yacht in more convenient locations.”

  • 3 New Ocean Alexander 90 Motoryachts Sold Within 30 Days

    April 10, 2014

KAOHSIUNG, TAIWAN – Alexander Marine, the manufacturer of Ocean Alexander yachts, is pleased to announce the recent sale of 4 new yachts for the US. 3 of these sales were for the Ocean Alexander 90 Motoryacht, which included many updates for the 2014 model year.

Jeff Oliver, based in the Ft. Lauderdale dealership, secured the first new order in 2014 with a new build order for an Ocean Alexander 72. This will be the first Ocean Alexander yacht for the buyers. After extensive research and speaking with several current owners, the new buyers were impressed with the overall quality of the yachts and flexibilities with a new build and expect to take delivery in the first quarter of 2015.

Jeffery Ferguson, also from Ft. Lauderdale, sold the first new 90 Motoryacht of the year. The new owner comes from a family with a long history of boating. The enlarged windows in the salon, the luxurious accommodations for owner and guests, as well as the incredible entertainment space in the open flybridge were just a few of the updates by Evan Marshall in the Ocean Alexander 90 that the owners really appreciated.

Chris June and Jeff Oliver, from our Ft. Lauderdale dealership, secured a new factory build order for an Ocean Alexander 90 with enclosed skylounge at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. The buyer is a current owner of an Ocean Alexander 85. He toured a brokerage Ocean Alexander 88 Skylounge Motoryacht and decided the increased space afforded by the enclosed skylounge provided him and his family more options to enjoy yachting regardless of the constant changing weather conditions prone to affect south Florida waters.

Lastly, Ray Prokorym, from our Seattle dealership, sold a new Ocean Alexander 90 with enclosed skylounge at the Newport Boat Show that just wrapped up. This yacht will be delivered this summer and includes a new exterior window profile by Evan K. Marshall in addition to the many interior updates included on other 90 motoryachts delivered this year.

When asked about the recent sales, Richard Allender, Director of US Operations explained, “We are very excited with the sales of four new yachts in this short period of time and believe it speaks to the continued investment in the product, the ensuring of quality being put into the product, and the involvement of Evan Marshall in the styling updates. Yachting enthusiasts have become more attuned to the strength of the OA brand and the quality found in our motoryachts.”

Great Southern Marine Pty Ltd. is controlled by Mr. Todd Holzapfel. Mr. Holzapfel grew up boating in and around Australia and has over a decade of marine retail experience. “Having properly educated myself as to the proud history and unique manufacturing philosophies of Ocean Alexander Yachts, I look forward to offering the Australian and New Zealand boating public the opportunity to discover the reasons why a large proportion of our customers around the world are repeat buyers,” said Mr. Holzapfel.
